The CIPS Cheshire and North wales Branch is delighted to have David Loseby, an experienced CPO, CIPS Fellow, previous CIPS Congress Representative for the North of England region and now appointed to the CIPS Global Board of Trustees, discusses what is meant by ‘Behavioural Procurement’.

When people talk about developing soft skills, what do they mean? What are some of the practical applications for contract management practitioners? How we behave and the behaviour of others is important in any situation and this can be particularly evident in negotiating contracts as this can lead to the success or failure of the contract.

David will define what is meant by Behavioural Procurement, how this can be achieved within the supply chain through to the end client, behavioural competencies required and how to apply this in negotiation situations, supported by case studies.
