    The event will cover a selection of procurement nightmares which could arise at various stages of the procurement life cycle. The aim is to provide examples of where the situations could occur, how to avoid them and practical solutions should the nightmare arise. Nightmares for this webinar:

    1. Disaggregated “buying” means spend is difficult to control
    2. How do you drive value for money when there is limited market competition

    Jenny is a CIPS Chartered Procurement and Supply professional with wide experience in procurement and financial roles in Social Housing and Local Government. Jenny has a demonstrable track record of delivering complex procurement projects, procurement transformational change, strategy development, and leading and developing procurement teams.

    In 2018, Jenny moved into procurement consultancy as Head of Procurement with Stradia, a specialist construction and property procurement and contracts, utilising her background in housing and asset construction and maintenance. Over the last 12 months Jenny has successfully delivered a procurement projects for a number of clients, most notably using the new NEC4 Alliance contract for Sheffield Hallam University’s campus improvement programme of works.

    Nigel is a highly experienced procurement strategist, and a contract and commercial adviser.

    With over 35 years’ experience working as a chartered quantity surveyor (in both professional practice and contracting organisations) and as a consultant he has developed a keen interest in procurement strategy, alliance, partnering and construction contracts and delivering robust commercial management through clear processes.

    Nigel’s extensive knowledge of contract law enables him to advise clients on the practical implications of using alternative construction contracts and how to maximise the benefits for clients, contractors and specialist subcontractors. Nigel has particular expertise in the design, development and implementation of open book contract management systems that deliver savings.

    Nigel is also a sought-after trainer and consultant for Thomas Telford and regularly delivers their NEC3 and NEC4 training throughout the UK. Nigel is also a trainer and consultant for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
