We hold events in each region throughout the year. Organised by procurement professionals, for procurement professionals, these events facilitate networking and help build the local procurement community, whilst also providing bite sized portions of knowledge.

The Queensland Committee is passionate about building the profession in Queensland. If you have any suggestions or topics, or would like to be involved in any events – please let us know.


    The Queensland Regional Committee hosts a minimum of six networking and professional development events per year.

    QLD Chair: Tivolee Spragg (MCIPS), Queensland University of Technology 
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2018]

    Tivolee is a highly experienced and passionate procurement professional with over 17 years’ experience in procurement. Tivolee has worked across local, State and Federal Government in roles in Australia and the UK. Tivolee has worked in procurement from the ground up - holding both tactical and strategic roles in sourcing, category management and process improvement through to senior leadership roles, helping to shape the direction of procurement. Tivolee is the Associate Director, Strategic Procurement at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and is responsible for the strategic and operational procurement function across the University.

    QLD Vice-Chair : Genevieve Alexander, St Vincent’s Health
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2016]

    Genevieve is the Senior Procurement Specialist for Group Procurement in St Vincent’s Health Australia and has experience in managing strategic sourcing processes, supplier relationships, negotiating complex contracts and extensive stakeholder engagement. Previously, Genevieve was the Category Specialist for Electricity within Queensland Government Procurement and was responsible for electricity procurement and managing energy contracts for whole-of-Government. Prior to entering procurement, Genevieve worked across various levels of politics and worked as the Agricultural Policy Advisor to the Premier of Queensland. Genevieve brings with her a passion and enthusiasm for the procurement profession while also continuously seeking ways to develop her knowledge and experience in the industry.

    Shane Duran (MCIPS), Brisbane City Council
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2018]

    Shane has more than 20 years’ experience in strategic and operational procurement functions within state and local government. His experience includes category management, whole-of-government contracts, implementation and management of high risk, high value contracts, developing effective supplier relationships, managing procurement teams, and identification and implementation of effective strategies to mitigate risk, reduce cost and improve service delivery across metropolitan, rural and remote areas. Shane is a champion for social procurement. Shane has recently completed a Master of Supply Chain and Logistics Management through RMIT University.

    Karla Fischer, Department of Transport and Main Roads
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2019]

    Karla is a highly experienced and passionate procurement professional with over 20-years’ experience across the strategic, commercial and operational functions.

    During the course of her career, Karla has worked for a number of departments and organisations and has a proven track record of delivering financial and non-financial benefits - across respective supply chains and covering a diverse range of procurement categories and industries. She has implemented change and business process improvements; this coupled with strong stakeholder engagement, a passion for improvement and leadership skills.

    Karla is a long-standing CIPS community member joining in 2006, a Qld CIPS Committee Member, she is tertiary qualified and has recently completed her Post Graduate Business Studies with QUT. Karla is on the way to completing her Masters and during her career has owned and managed private businesses.

    Karla is driven and committed to leading, developing and growing her network, the procurement profession, to mentoring, training and developing others and has established a strong presence across her networks within Brisbane and more broadly at a National level.

    Billie Gorman FCIPS, Accenture
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2019]

    Billie has over 20 years’ experience heading up Procurement teams in Australia and Europe across various industries such as Utilities, Government, Financial Services, Media, Construction and Transportation. Billie’s current role is with Accenture as the Intelligent Supply Portfolio Lead for Health and Public Service clients.  Previously Billie led Accenture’s ANZ Procurement Practice for Professional Services, HR Services, Marketing, Travel, Fleet, Corporate Services, Property Services and ICT.   Billie also leads Accenture’s Microservices practice which looks at innovative business solutions in collaboration with Accenture’s clients and partners. 

    Billie has managed strategic reviews, source to contract and implementation programs for Fortune 500 organisations including BskyB, Oracle, London Underground, Suncorp, BOQ, Parmalat and Ausgrid.  Her roles include building the capability for end to end category management, supplier performance management and sourcing execution. She has established green-field procurement teams and been responsible for ICT and BPO outsourced services, banking operations services, marketing and corporate services procurement.

    Billie has provided commercial guidance to boards and steering committees, managed complex sourcing projects, designed and implemented procurement transformations and led multiple complex negotiations. 

    Billie has been a Member of CIPS by Qualification since 1999 and a Fellow since 2011.

    Sabrina Jeal, QSuper
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2017]

    Sabrina is a specialist in the field with over 13 years’ experience within the procurement profession. Sabrina has worked for a number of Global organisations covering multiple industries including; Babcock International Group, Eaton PLC, Cobham Tactical Communications and Surveillance and WASP Switching Products. Sabrina is now the Strategic Procurement Manager at QSuper working within the Financial Services industry. Sabrina has been a member of the CIPS community since 2009; she joins us from the UK where she sat on the South of England CIPS branch committee.

    Sean Johnson, TROOCOO Recruitment
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2016]

    Sean is a Cofounder and Director of TROOCOO Recruitment and the leader of their Procurement, Contracts and Supply practice; He has a significant presence throughout all industries operating within Queensland and Australia. Sean has honed his recruitment and leadership skills over the last ten years across Europe and Australasia, working with a range of consultancies from globally listed market leaders to true boutique specialists. Prior to setting up TROOCOO he was a partner with one of Queensland’s most successful recruitment firms and was responsible for setting up and developing the Queensland division for one of Australia’s most respected boutique procurement recruitment companies. Sean has also worked for a globally listed search and selection firm in the UK and Australasia. He is committed to developing and growing his network, has established a strong presence across his chosen field and is committed to leading and developing the Procurement Contracts and Supply Division and broader operations practice within TROOCOO.

    Harvey Leane, Seqwater
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2019]

    Harvey currently manages a team of IT procurement professionals at Seqwater transforming the team from one of a reactive unit, to one of a more strategic, high performing team, winning the praise of the Executive Board. A passionate procurement advocate and progressive thinker, Harvey continuously challenges the norm and promotes improvements and innovation of procurement processes.

    With experience in private and public procurement sectors as well as a background in procurement analytics and Technology Business Management (TBM), Harvey brings passion and unique perspective to his workplace and greater professional network. Harvey’s ability to apply forensic data analyses to supply chain movements has allowed him to inform the organisation to make prudent, cost effective decisions. Coupled with his high-level ‘hard’ skills is his personable and inclusive approach that has gained the respect of those around him.

    Dougall Lodge MCIPS, ArcBlue
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2020]

    With over 25 years of commercial experience in various procurement and marketing & sales roles across Asia and Australia with the Coca-Cola system and QLD sugar industry, Dougall currently works with ArcBlue consulting to deliver more to private and public sector clients. Some of the ArcBlue services he focuses on include capability &  training; advisory & transformation; social & sustainable and project contracting.

    Peter Morichovitis FCIPS, City of Gold Coast
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2009]

    Peter is a highly accomplished Procurement and Supply Chain leader with diverse experience across the resources, manufacturing and government sectors.  In 2016 he was recognised as CIPS Australasian Procurement and Supply Chain Management Professional of the Year and for leading his organisation to win best procurement Transformation global, at the Procurement Leaders World Procurement Awards. Peter was the Chief Procurement Officer at the City of Gold Coast, Australia's second largest local government and is currently the Chief Information Officer for the City of Gold Coast.  He is a Fellow of the Charted Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and is the immediate past Chair for CIPS in Queensland and was a past Chair in South Australia/Northern Territory.

    QLD Committee: Ashleigh Turner, Hastings Deering
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2020]

    Ashleigh is a passionate and energetic Procurement Specialist at Hastings Deering and manages multiple categories including, industrial consumables, facilities management, information & technology, corporate services, marketing and labour/recruitment.

    Ashleigh’s favourite part of Procurement is implementing the changes; because this is where you see all blood, sweat, tears and laughter become a reality, and get to see you changes improve both the employee and customers experience.

    Ash is the first person ever to complete the Blackwoods Aggregator Project; and managed to do this in less than 12 months; with less than 3 years Procurement experience under her belt. Ash transitioned over 23+ categories, consolidated 300+ suppliers, contracted over 60,000 items, reviewed over 500k PO lines, rolled this project out across a location size equivalent to the size of India and managed to make these changes “sustainable”.

    Ash was awarded CIPS Young Talent 2019 off the back of this industry leading project and believes the project was successful because of soft skills.

    QLD Committee: Murray Watt (MCIPS), Management Options Pty Ltd
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2014]

    Murray is the Managing Director of Management Options Pty Ltd (MOPL); a procurement consultancy servicing the public sector in Australia.  Murray has 25+ years’ experience in the profession including 10 years as head of procurement for the Queensland Treasury portfolio of agencies prior to joining the private sector in 2002 and founding MOPL in 2004. Fifteen years later, MOPL’s probity practice is one of Australia’s leading providers of probity advisory and auditing services with its highly experienced team of nationally accredited probity practitioners. MOPL’s procurement and contracts team members are imbedded in some the State’s significant projects as procurement leads. Murray has led several successful and transformative procurement function reviews across the public sector in Queensland and regularly undertakes lead negotiator assignments.

    Adelen Wilson, Boeing Defence Australia
    [CIPS Volunteer since 2015]

    A qualified lawyer with additional tertiary qualifications in Economics and International Relations, Adelen works within the Supply Chain Management function of Boeing Defence Australia.  Adelen has experience in Engineering, Mining, Health, Utilities and Government strategic and operational supply chain management functions. Adelen is currently working towards her MCIPS as well as undertaking a Masters of Strategic Supply Chain Management at Griffith University.
