GM Update March

CIPS 5 March 2021

The first months of the year have seen us all hit the ground running as we head into what’s shaping up to be another massive year for our profession. Since my last update we’ve rolled out the CIPS ANZ plan for 2021.

This plan sets the scene for the year ahead. One that centres on collaboration and awareness raising. Whether that be driving the professionalisation agenda and capability growth through supporting students and education pathways. Promoting the value CIPS brings to both individuals and organisations through certifying and awarding against international best practice and our global standard. Or engaging and advocating through knowledge content, webinars, roundtables or policy response; we’re all focused on raising the capability and the profile of our profession.

In the month of March, we’re looking forward to working with members who have joined a subcommittee of the CIPS Profession Steering Committee to review and respond to the Productivity Commission’s interim report into vulnerable supply chains in Australia.

In addition, we have the first Pacific Island roundtable kicking off; with the aim of sharing best practice, challenges, capability development and other relevant issues faced by professionals and organisations across the Pacific Islands community. We are continuing our collaboration with New Zealand’s Procurement Excellence Forum, this time through presence at graduate fairs at universities in Auckland and Wellington.

And last but not least we’re all really excited to be hosting the CIPS ANZ International Women’s Day webinar with three inspirational speakers, Lisa Strickland, Tanya Harris and Kristal Kinsela. Register today

Collaborative Working

International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on women’s achievements and raise awareness of the benefits that an inclusive world brings to people, planet and profit.

This year’s IWD theme is #ChooseToChallenge, and I urge you all to consider taking a pledge to call out gender bias and inequality. Whether that is through strengthening skills of women throughout the supply chain; facilitating dialogue with partners and stakeholders on the value of gender equality; or supporting equal participation in politics and leadership to help drive improved outcomes for all society. Together, we can not only make a significant difference to the lives of women, but impact humankind.

Below is an outline of what else is happening at CIPS ANZ – enjoy!
