The procurement powerful...
Procurement power works wonders. Being up to date with your CPD, working towards Chartered Status and understanding the importance of ethics within the profession is a great platform for success. But it can be easy to fall behind, and with new legislation and expectations constantly being introduced in an increasingly uncertain global trading environment, it’s important not to leave yourself in a position of weakness. It’s about staying focused, staying sharp... and staying ahead.
Power your business
Raise standards within your team and deliver results back to the business with training and development activities. Not only is Continuing Professional Development (CPD) good for both personal and professional growth, now individuals can gain recognition for the time and effort they invest, in the form of Chartered Status. By setting team targets for CPD, you’ll help them raise their profile. CPD can include formal training, such as e-learning and webinars, or less obvious activities like reading Supply Management magazine, attending a conference or volunteering at your local CIPS branch.
CIPS Corporate Ethics Mark…
Your business could also qualify for the CIPS Corporate Ethics Mark, signalling to stakeholders that you are committed to accountability and self-governance, and that your staff are trained in ethical sourcing and supplier management. In order to gain Chartered Status, members need to do the CIPS Ethics E-learning each year, so if your staff get Chartered this could get your organisation most of the way towards gaining the CIPS Corporate Ethics Mark.
The CIPS and Supply Management Procurement Power List 2018
The definitive list of procurement's top 30 most influential people is out now, celebrating our profession's growing organisational impact, and the individuals who are leading the way and inspiring others.
CIPS Group Director Cath Hill comments:
"This project is important for our profession in so many ways. It’s a celebration of the very best that procurement is achieving, as well as inspiring others to pick up the gauntlet and take procurement on to the next level. But the list also helps put great procurement firmly in the spotlight within the wider business community.
"The leaders on the Procurement Power List have paved the way for the next generation of procurement professionals to aspire to these roles, to choose procurement as a career path, and to evangelise about the value procurement can add to and beyond our organisations.
"I hope you are inspired by those on the list and that many of you aspire to making the list yourselves as you progress in your careers. This is an opportunity to celebrate all that is great about procurement, and I hope it makes you feel proud of your chosen profession." More
