Congratulations to the Heathrow Airport procurement department…
and to all our other Award Winners who are driving our profession to even greater heights of achievement.
Congratulations to all our Supply Management Award Winners
The 2016 CIPS Supply Management Awards were presented in London on 14 September. The procurement team at Heathrow won the Overall Award. They took a fragmented procurement department that was viewed by the business as failing to add value, and transformed its service, engagement and capability. The judges commended the project for its clear aims and objectives, and the emphasis on the need for a cultural change within the department.

Attracting, Developing and Retaining Talent
Last year one of the major themes in our Procurement Salary Guide and Insights was the importance of attracting, developing and retaining talent, often by: seeking soft and transferable skills outside the profession; offering the clear career progression survey respondents told us they want; and making sure salary and benefits packages are in line with the market and candidate expectations.
You can read more about the focus on talent in the CIPS/Hays Procurement Salary Guide and Insights 2016 and our Building a Procurement Team report.
Our 2017 CIPS/Hays Salary Survey Open Until 16 October 2016
Now in its third year the CIPS/Hays Procurement Salary Guide and Insights is fast becoming known as the benchmark for the profession as a salary guide plus offers an insight into benefits and skills in demand by both employees and employers.
Last year over 4,000 of you completed the survey globally allowing us to extend our reporting beyond the UK to cover South Africa, Australia and the growing interim market.
For 2017 we intend to expand the interim section and give a more in-depth insight globally.
The survey should take on average 10 minutes to complete.

- More than seven years after the Great Recession officially ended, growth in many major developed economies remains stuck in middle gear, while emerging markets now also appear vulnerable.
