An exciting opportunity has arisen for a charismatic and driven procurement professional to lead the procurement function on a major government project that will help shape the future or the sustainable energy.

In an effort to generate cleaner carbon free energy required to meet the worlds need to match our increase consumption, this programme will work closely with industry partners to deliver ground-breaking solutions.

As a Head of Procurement, you will:

• Managing a large team of procurement managers to develop and implement procurement strategy for a £200m + spend
• Have responsibility over relationships with suppliers, providing commercial advice internally to ensure the growth and development of the function
• Work on large projects to provide procurement support through commercial advise to stakeholders and contractual support
• Work closely with board level stakeholders to represent and effectively communicate procurement's interests and impact
• Effectively navigate internal and external stakeholder groups such as engineers, scientists, suppliers and procurement leaders

Desirable experience:

• Strong public sector procurement background
• Experienced in successfully managing teams.
• Strong background in contract management and risk mitigation
• Experience in managing a diverse set of stakeholders to engage on procurement activity
• MCIPS qualification is required
