The University is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to assist with implementing a new strategic procurement service and delivering maximum value for money from an annual procurement spend of approximately £35m.
This is a new post which represents investment in the University’s Procurement Team. The postholder will be viewed as a commercial and strategic partners working in collaboration with academic and other professional services staff to deliver and manage procurement projects that are innovative, sustainable and demonstrate value for money. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of the development of a new strategic service and the postholder will help shape how that service is delivered.
Candidates should be educated to degree standard (or equivalent) and have previous experience of working within a procurement function in a large or complex organisation, with a variety of stakeholders.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for this permanent full-time post working in the Procurement Section within Finance Services.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible.
The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.
This role will be located within Finance Services, working on the Bangor campus. The Financial Services teamwork in a hybrid working approach under the University’s Dynamic Working framework. The team will shortly move their office space base into the University’s first hybrid working hub. A mix of working from the hub and from home (although remaining in the UK) is expected for these posts. The successful candidate would be expected to be present on campus for at least two days every fortnight.
