The Role

We are looking for a Procurement Manager to join our Contract and Supplier Management team at PRS for Music. The Procurement Manager will own and define all the elements of the procurement process with responsibility for the function end-to-end. This includes ensuring due diligence is conducted and costs are controlled to support the achievement of the business strategic objectives. The Procurement Manager will collaborate with stakeholders at all levels across the business for the sourcing of good, services, and strategic vendor partners. 

In this exciting industry, the Contract and Supplier Management Team (CSM) play a vital role with PRS in terms of the evaluating, and the on boarding of our valued business partners. Post award we support the business by ensuring contractually our suppliers, and joint ventures deliver to their obligations, and we work in partnership with them to address any shortfalls. The team manage both internal and external stakeholders, so relationship management is key, along with the ability to be creative in solution management. The team touch every department within PRS, so they learn fast how our end-to-end business operates. 

Our industry backgrounds are very diverse, however we come together by our love of music and the drive to deliver for our members and customers. The other area that pulls the team together is our USP, as everyone is either qualified in World Commerce and Contracting (WCC) or the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS). Therefore, we always look for talented people who want a challenging and varied role, and who have, or want to develop themselves to obtain these qualifications and want to work in a supportive team, within this fast past industry.

Responsibilities

As our Procurement Manager, some of your day to day duties will include…

  • Management of one line report including supporting their ongoing development and professional training
  • Reviewing and redefining where necessary the current procurement process in line with best practice.
  • Lead with all the procurement activities and support all levels of stakeholders to ensure all contracts are onboarded on time and within the agreed budgets, this also includes contract renewals.
  • Assist in contract negotiations and help define and develop key performance indicators or recommend measure around service credits when required to drive performance.
  • Procurement lead on major projects and give direction on the process, and timelines required to achieve the positive outcomes needed in terms of any procurement to support the business project.
  • Investigate and provide business cases in terms of any automation that could improve the procurement and contract execution process in terms of systems, costs, speed, efficiency, process or added value.
  • Analyse department spend and suppliers in terms of the current contract landscape and look for opportunities for cost savings and produce department reports of any findings.

  • Experienced people manager
  • Qualified CIPS member, or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven advanced skills in managing stakeholders to a senior level by varying communication methods.
  • Ability to set direction concisely, plus confident to challenge the status quo when required. 
  • Excellent influencing skills which are driven by logic and analytical evaluation but delivered to stakeholders in a positive way to generate buy in at all levels.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to articulate the rational
  • Commercial mindset, awareness and budget control
  • Experience of leading from the front, but also being a strong team player
  • Proven evidence of change management
  • Project Management experience (Prince 2 is an advantage, or equivalent)

The Process

Our interview process for this role is simple:

  • First stage interview will take place virtually on MS Teams.

  • Second stage interview will take place in person at our London Bridge Hub.

Location

We offer a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work from home up to three days a week.
