What you'll do

As a Buyer, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and execution of commercial sourcing strategies to deliver a fit-for-purpose supply chain and value for money to Sainsbury's Group. Collaborating with the Sourcing Manager, you will contribute to the development of complex commercial strategies, balancing cost, quality, and risk. Your role will involve providing analytical and research support to projects, managing sourcing events, and driving supplier appraisal, selection, negotiation, and contract management. Additionally, you will develop and execute category plans, gaining an understanding of internal and external supply markets and influencing stakeholders to support your ideas. With your commercial acumen, communication skills, and ability to work as part of a cross-functional team, you will be instrumental in delivering outstanding solutions and supporting the long-term goals of the procurement team.

Who you are

As a Buyer, you are a commercially astute professional with experience in procurement. Your passion for building a career in procurement and your strong understanding of procurement principles and techniques make you well-equipped to contribute to the development and execution of commercial sourcing strategies. Your ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders allows you to successfully drive business change and deliver outstanding solutions for the organisation. With your exceptional communication skills, supplier management expertise, and experience in commercial negotiation and contract management, you play a vital role in delivering value for money and ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
