Salary: £41, 496 - £44, 539 per annum
Permanent contract, based at Service Headquarters, Bridle Road, Bootle, Merseyside
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Contract Manger to join Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service’s (MFRS) Procurement team, in its capacity as Lead Authority, to manage the Long Term Capability Management contract that facilitates National Resilience - the UK Government’s Fire and Rescue response to major incidents. This multi-million pound, gold level contract (~£7M p.a.) manages assets ranging from the latest, state of the art scientific equipment to a fleet of more than 200 vehicles, including heavy goods vehicles and light vans in conjunction with the Prime Contractor. The position requires close working with the Contractor’s peer group and includes attendance at regular meetings in various locations such as Bardon, London and Merseyside.
Reporting to and supported by the Head of Procurement, the role includes all aspects of contractor performance such as change management, budgetary control, periodic auditing, risk management as well as administration to ensure successful delivery against challenging timeframes. he high profile role also requires relationship management with MFRS’s Senior Leadership Team and others stakeholders including those within Home Office.
The role has many opportunities for autonomy and responsibility, to ensure the contract’s smooth operation. You will be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision and oversight from senior colleagues. You will be keen to continue to hone your judgement and professional/technical skills, taking pride in your work whilst supporting and developing others.
