As our Assistant Buyer, you'll play a vital role in our purchasing operations, with responsibilities including:

  • Supplier Communication: Engaging with suppliers to confirm purchase orders and update relevant information, ensuring smooth transactions and nurturing strong relationships.
  • Data Management: Maintaining accurate product and supplier information in our Sage X3 system, guaranteeing efficiency and precision in our processes.
  • Logistics Liaison: Collaborating with the sales office to optimize delivery dates for customer back orders, demonstrating problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach.
  • Innovative Solutions: Assisting in the creation of new products within our systems, leveraging your attention to detail and creativity to drive innovation.
  • Negotiation and Cost Reduction: Playing a key role in supplier price negotiations and cost reduction initiatives, demonstrating strategic thinking and financial acumen.
  • Product Sourcing: Taking ownership of sourcing new products, exploring opportunities to expand our offerings and remain competitive.
  • Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate inventory levels and overseeing the QA quarantine stock credit process, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Quality Assurance: Upholding our commitment to quality by addressing QA issues through our CRM system, ensuring compliance with standards and driving continuous improvement.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keeping supplier assessment systems, terms and conditions, and warranty documentation up to date, providing essential support to our Purchasing Manager.
  • Team Collaboration: Acting as a collaborative team player, contributing to a positive work environment and supporting colleagues as needed.

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanour.
  • Strong administration skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Previous purchasing experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines consistently.
