Job Purpose
Build, own and deliver the compelling category go-to-market plan, ensuring appropriate positioning and messaging, backed up by a deep understanding of markets and the competitive landscape, and supported by customer insights

Key responsibilities

Market analysis
  • Customer insight and research - be the expert on the customer: who they are, how they buy, key buying criteria
  • Understand the competitive and market landscape
  • Understand all key market and channel trends and define appropriate penetration strategies to reach end user ensuring high-quality customer journey
Go-To-Market strategy
  • Create and own the customer-centric go-to-market strategy for the category
  • Define appropriate segmentation, targeting and positioning plans
  • Define range policy and coverage needs based on market indicators
  • Lead market launches of new products, ensuring customer shelf-space wins
  • Plan and implement appropriate marketing tactics through the product lifecycle
Category communication plan
  • Define key messaging to differentiate products / services from others in the market
  • Define and lead implementation of category communications and content marketing plans in conjunction with marcomms team
  • Define and lead appropriate category support material in collaboration with communications team
Financial and market-share growth
  • Implementation of the tactics to achieve revenue and profitability results and market share growth for the category
  • Understand key financial & economic indicators to drive appropriate strategies
Continuous improvement
  • Be the category Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing sales enabling training and knowledge transfer to customer-facing teams
  • Be a marketing leader for process development and implementation
What we're looking for
  • Qualification in Marketing and/or Business (minimum degree-level)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a marketing role (category marketing / product marketing / trade marketing), preferably in the Automotive Industry
  • Previous exposure to, and understanding of, the usage of key economic indicators, financial drivers & business metrics to generate strategies and produce positive results
  • Experience of working in a marketing environment in a multi-country role with a strong focus on customer interaction and engagement
Expected skills & competencies.
  • Demonstrable experience and capability in turning trends, data and insights into marketing strategies, tactics and creative messaging to address market and customer needs
  • Have keen problem-solving skills and a willingness to take on complex challenges, and see through to resolution - never give up!
  • Excellent communication skills - able to effectively convey a vision, and build strong and trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Team player -with a can do attitude and sense of humor
  • Accurate with meticulous attention to detail
  • Fluent in English; 2nd language a benefit
