What will you do?

Responsible for hierarchical management of operator teams via Team Leaders. Manage the manufacturing/assembly teams at process level in order to meet business and customer needs in terms of health and safety, quality, customer satisfaction and productivity. Responsible for functional reporting and actions to drive cash and process optimisation.

Drive the teams safety culture, lead safety improvement projects within a diverse team.
Ensure safe and efficient working environment through the application of 5S and Schneider safety standards
SIM2 meeting introduced with safety issues and actions
Ensures risk assessments are carried out
Enforced health and safety rules and 5S
Zero harm
Health and Safety issues are personally led, thoroughly investigated and associated actions quickly and successfully closed out

Quality
Actively demonstrate a commitment to a quality culture, collecting meaningful data on quality issues hourly and ensure cell quality targets are achieved
Problems are quickly and successfully contained and resolved at their root cause
Work with quality function to identify and implement quality improvement actions
Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) concepts implemented

Delivery
To react to production problems within the hour to ensure shift production targets are met
Ensures customer service requirements are met
Ensures that the correct workload and resource balance is achieved by analysing and adjusting workload to the appropriate level - in sync with production capabilities/business plans
Ensures achievement of production schedules in accordance with the objectives of cost - quality - lead time

Efficiency/Improvement
Ensure meaningful data on production losses is collected hourly and implement timely improvements
Leads SIM 2 cycle, and ensures appropriate indicators and action plans are in place to improve performance
Actively participates in SIM3 and takes responsibility for analysing supply chain issues through appropriate root cause analysis and resolving them with robust and sustainable solutions in a timely manner
Coaches others in the use of complex performance indicators when needed
Leads and participates in Kaizen events
Proposes solutions to process issues to ensure industrial improvements are in place, and leads cross functional teams to resolve complex issues, with other functions' assistance where appropriate
Plant level customer service improvement plans, transverse projects and/or investment proposals are in place to support targeted improvements
Achieves annual productivity savings
Identifies Capex opportunities and provides sound business case for investment

People
To actively promote a culture where concerns are raised and resolved; to develop employees through open and honest communication
Promotes The company values within the team. Engages and motivates employees behind the Schneider Electric strategy
Coaches the team to improve through the SIM process and principles
Identifies Team Leader training needs & organises appropriate training for the operator teams
Operator skill flexibility and versatility is managed in accordance with the defined targets
Ensures effective appraisal and performance management processes are carried out and appropriate succession planning and personal development of high potentials is actively pursued
Ensures actions are in place to improve the employee net promoter score (ENPS)

Who will you report to?

This role will report to the Manufacturing Operations & Transformation Manager.

  • A minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent), at Grade 4 or above including Maths (higher paper), English and a science related subject.
    Safety qualification IOSH, NEBOSHH or relevant experience preferable.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience delivering industrial productivity in a similar environment
  • Least 2 years experience of successfully managing a range of people issues and projects preferred
