Technology Category Manager - Leading Global FTSE100 - Manchester X 2 days - Software, Hardware, Telecoms - £75-85k - Generous Package - Fast-track Promotional Opportunities
As one of the most notable names in the in the Technology space, this aggressively expanding blue-chip is looking to add an ambitious IT Category Manager to their best-in-class Procurement function. Working out of their Central Manchester HQ, the successful Procurement professional will be liaising across the entire Technology Procurement team in a role that will cover all IT subcategories and will be suited to somebody with a deep knowledge of IT Procurement on a global scale. This role will have you reporting directly into the Head of Technology Procurement, in a very commercially intelligent working environment as the firm look to ensure they are employing the best possible Procurement people so that potential promotional opportunities can be offered internally to their team.
Procurement Category Manager Responsibilities:
- Managing a large spend across all technology Procurement subcategories
- Develop new strategies for business development and reporting to senior members as to how the company can develop the Procurement function further
- Negotiate, and create relationships, with internal & external suppliers whilst developing a strong network for each particular market
- Conduct deep research into IT category and identify how you can generate savings across them
- Manage stakeholder relationships - ensuring a positive working relationship is in place
Key Skills & Experience Sought:
- Strong IT Procurement experience
- Proven track record of managing a large spend and delivering savings
- History of negotiating with the ability to influence decisions in your favour
- Good communication skills with past experience managing supplier and stakeholder relationships
- Friendly, driven person looking to maintain high standards and set an example for self as well as others
- Degree level 2.1 or equivalent (desirable)
- CIPS (desirable)
