The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a Head of Commercial to join the Commercial team.

Job Description
Your key responsibilities as the Head of Commercial will be to ensure a focus on delivering the priorities of the Metro Mayor by:
- Developing and implementing creative and innovative commercial and supply chain strategies to achieve the best outcomes across all the Combined Authorities funding streams.
- Delivering demonstrable value for money through Procurement and Contract Management.
- Providing advice and guidance to the CEO and Directors, on all of our major procurement and strategic contractual relationships, driving value for money at the heart of delivery programme.
- Implementing a programme of commercial/cost management across its major infrastructure programme.
- Leading on developing a region wide focus on collaborative procurement opportunities with other Unitary Authorities.
- Developing and deliver the Social Value strategy and deliver through procurement and contracts.
- Leading on negotiating contracts (specifically NEC4 contracts) and contract disputes on behalf of the Combined Authority.
- Building and leading a skilled team of Procurement and Contract Management professionals.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following experience:
- Extensive commercial management experience in the delivery of large-scale infrastructure and transport major projects (£multi-billion)
- Commercial management of significant construction contracts and negotiating contact changes
- Presenting complex information to a range of key stakeholders to secure buy-in and engagement Experience of establishing and growing both commercial and procurement services, particularly in an infrastructure delivery environment
- Providing coaching and mentoring at a management level to support the embedding of a value for money culture
- A successful track record of engaging effectively with others at a senior level and building productive partnerships with key stakeholders
