Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to our Edinburgh Office, at least 2 days per week for this position.

We're looking for a Category Manager - Marketing and Customer Communications to join our Procurement team at Tesco Bank.
As a Category Manager for Marketing and Customer Communications, you'll be expected to negotiate complex supply agreements for marketing agencies, print, post, bank cards and much more at Tesco Bank. You'll be provided with the opportunity to work on some of the biggest contracts which shape the future customer strategy and delivery of the Tesco Bank business. We are looking for someone to support Tesco Bank by negotiating commercial and legal terms with new and incumbent suppliers and managing supplier relationships in conjunction with the Supplier Management team
You'll be challenged in this role due to the fast and exciting pace and the role you will play in shaping the new business by negotiating key contracts/agreements that make a difference for our customers and colleagues.
Our Procurement colleagues enjoy that they are accountable for leading their category and are given the opportunity to work with Senior Stakeholders across the business. Our colleagues also enjoy the fact that we work closely within the various business units and are viewed as an extension of their team and true business partner.

Following the announcement regarding Tesco's' strategic partnership with Barclays, this role will support our banking business and will transfer to Barclay's UK towards the end of 2024, subject to regulatory approval. Please note, the transfer date may change.

What you'll be doing
- Build and deliver Category Plans by being innovative and collaborative with various cross functional stakeholders.
- Delivering high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing best value for Tesco Bank.
- Consistently track and report on savings targets for specified sub-categories using the agreed process.
- Using sound judgement build new and develop existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and create greater value across the organisation.
- Support the business to achieve compliance with legal, ethical, and social procurement policies with integrity and good judgement.
We need you to have
- Experience in Procurement ideally in a related field
- Cross functional working and stakeholder engagement
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
- Knowledge of Supplier relationship and performance management
- Category Planning experience
And if you have any of these, even better
- CIPS qualified.
- Experience dealing with Professional Services or Consulting organisations.
- Experience working inside a large corporate entity with global reach.
