Bromley Council are looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to join our ambitious Procurement Team, based at our new Civic Centre directly opposite Bromley South train station.
The role will report to the Head of Procurement and will provide expert advice, guidance and support on procurement matters, working with the Council’s members and staff to ensure the highest standards of professional excellence in procurement.
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who can support the council’s commercial objectives, working well under pressure and to deadlines. This includes being the lead for strategic procurement activities across the entire procurement cycle, promoting best practice to ensure the Council’s contracts represent excellent value for money.
Working closely with the Head of Procurement and the rest of the Procurement Team, the successful candidate will be an expert in public procurement legislation and contribute to the successful implementation of the upcoming Procurement Act. The successful candidate will be personable and efficient, as well as having a good understanding of Project Management techniques in order to support high-profile projects. They will have the confidence to manage conflicting priorities, a variety of internal and external stakeholders, as well as being a great team-player.
