This Prestigious Market Leading Retailer are enjoying continued commercial success, their remarkable growth has led to increased investment being poured into their Strategic Procurement function. As a result, this well-renowned retail institution have created a new position for a proven procurement professional to join them on their journey and contribute to their success as they look to further develop the procurement function's maturity.

As a Strategic Procurement Manager within this ‎fast-growing greenfield function, you will partner with a world-class senior management team and take the reigns on procurement strategy, process and embedding best practice. This transformational procurement role represents a phenomenal opportunity to create a legacy for yourself across multiple largely untapped spend categories. Subsequently, there is ample opportunity to operate with autonomy and generate impactful procurement change and cost savings in both the short and long term.

For this unique opportunity, the client will consider strong procurement candidates coming from either a Direct or Indirect Procurement background. Due to the nature of the business and size of the procurement function, the procurement manager will have the opportunity to cover a broad array of spend areas effectively making no day the same.

Key Responsibilities:

• End to end procurement and strategic sourcing across multiple categories (indirect / direct). Contract management, negotiation and supplier relationship management / monitoring performance.
• Set the procurement strategy and drive process improvements as you look to shape the direction of the function.
• Work cross functionally to build relationships and ensure strong stakeholder management. Liaise, persuade and collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape the procurement function.
• Driving compliance and best practice throughout the Strategic Sourcing process.
• Creating RFIs & RFPs to support major £multi-million procurement projects, skilfully, handling complex tenders from beginning to end.

Required Experience:

• End to end procurement & strategic sourcing experience across either Indirect or Direct categories. Any experience in capex, opex, facilities management, professional services would be preferable.
• Any experience in driving improvements in a greenfield function is desirable.
• Confident in leading from the front on procurement agendas. The willingness to grow and improve the procurement function.
• Degree qualified. Started CIPS qualification or fully MCIPS qualified.
• Strong knowledge of procurement / sourcing / supplier contracts / contract management and negotiation.
• The ability to operate in a dynamic environment, being credible and authoritative with senior stakeholders to develop the procurement function.
