In the role of Procurement Specialist, we'll count on you to:
- Purchase at most favorable prices consistent with equity, quality and delivery
- Solicit, receive, evaluate and negotiate bids for any major equipment required
- Ensure that goods purchased are processed, consumed or used in the company, and are not purchased for resale at a profit
- Select vendor sources and have considerable latitude in determining acceptable prices
- Interface with legal, insurance, bonding, engineering, accounting, project controls and construction to minimize risk and maximize benefits to company
- Develop procurement plans and manage budgets as needed
- Manage departmental and company personnel in procurement-related issues as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or other applicable major; previous procurement experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable
- Minimum of 4 years of procurement experience, including soliciting, negotiating, drafting, formulating, and administering purchase orders
- For Federal project assignment, 2 years of experience with FAR, DFAR and other agency supplements as applicable, or other state or local contracting, bidding, and source selection practices depending on intended role
- Good analytical skills
- Good organization skills required
- Good presentation skills
