Sports and Leisure Industry Company

Location: Brighton (On-site, 5 days a week)
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000

About the Role:

A leading Sports and Leisure business in Brighton is seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to lead the creation of a brand-new procurement function from scratch. This is a greenfield role offering a unique opportunity to develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and processes in a fast-paced and exciting industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead the new procurement department, creating processes and systems to support the organization's growth and efficiency.
  • Drive transformational change within the finance department by integrating procurement processes across the entire business.
  • Manage both direct and indirect procurement categories, with a focus on delivering significant cost savings and value.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including the Finance Director, to ensure procurement is aligned with the broader business objectives.
  • Assess current procurement needs, build relationships across the organization, and challenge existing processes to drive improvement.
  • Lead future growth within the procurement team, potentially managing 1-2 direct reports as the function evolves.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience: Procurement professional with a proven track record in developing and implementing procurement strategies that deliver measurable savings.
  • Industry Background: Experience in the sports & leisure sector, or FM and Capex category expertise from other industries is highly desirable. Candidates should be adaptable, able to handle rapid changes, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, assertiveness, and the ability to push back when needed. Expertise in building procurement functions from the ground up, with a blend of direct and indirect procurement experience.
  • Personality: We're looking for someone who is proactive, assertive, and capable of driving change. You'll need to be comfortable with a hands-on approach and ready to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: Competitive salary range from £65,000 to £70,000, with scope for growth and progression based on performance
