A permanent opportunity is available with a competitive pay and benefits package including a starting salary of £42,041 a year, rising to £45,951 per year after key competencies of the role are met.

Tai Tarian is growing, and we are looking for an experienced and passionate procurement professional to join the Procurement team as a Category Manager. This new role will extend the reach of Procurement across the organisation by managing all stages of the procurement lifecycle, from identification of the need to the very end of the contract life, for our new Operations directorate categories of spend.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role requires partnering with internal stakeholders and managing contractual obligations of external contractors and suppliers, to provide assurance that we are maximising value from the contracts we hold.

This role requires you to have strong commercial awareness for the decisions we take internally and to be able to challenge suppliers and contractors.

To be shortlisted for the role, you will need to meet the following essential requirements:

• Be a full member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or a member of an equivalent recognised chartered body.
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a category management or procurement position in social housing or a similar regulated sector.
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working within UK public procurement regulations.
• Have experience of supply chain management.
• Have experience of contract performance management.
