An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Procurement Manager to join a leading innovator in electronics manufacturing. This role is pivotal to the continued success of a company renowned for its cutting-edge technology and commitment to saving lives.
The successful candidate will take ownership of all procurement categories, with a significant focus on plastics, ensuring that the highest quality materials are sourced for the production of critical safety devices. With a spend of £20 million, you will lead a small team of two procurement professionals, managing inventory, negotiating with suppliers, and driving continuous improvement in the sourcing process.

Procurement Manager, Key Responsibilities:
- Category Management: Oversee all procurement categories, with a particular emphasis on plastics, ensuring materials meet the stringent standards required for marine safety equipment.
- Supplier Negotiation: Lead negotiations with existing suppliers to secure favourable terms, while continuously assessing and onboarding new suppliers to enhance the supply chain.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to ensure a balance between optimal stock availability and cost efficiency, supporting the seamless production of safety products.
- Team Leadership: Guide and develop a small team of two procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Strategic Sourcing: Implement and refine strategic sourcing initiatives that drive cost savings, improve quality, and reduce lead times across all procurement categories.
Procurement Manager, Required Background and Qualifications:
- Procurement Expertise: Extensive experience in procurement management, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment, with a strong focus on materials such as plastics.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven track record in supplier negotiation and contract management, with the ability to secure optimal terms and build strong supplier relationships.
- Inventory Management: Solid experience in managing inventory within a production environment, balancing cost efficiency with availability needs.
- Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small team, driving performance and fostering a positive working culture.
- Strategic Vision: Strong strategic sourcing and category management skills, with the ability to align procurement activities with overall business goals.
