This UK-leading food manufacturing firm has recently undergone significant transformational change and is seeking an ambitious Procurement Excellence Lead to join their best-in-class procurement function. Reporting directly to the Group Procurement Director, this newly created role will be pivotal in optimising end-to-end Source-to-Pay (S2P) processes and leading procurement transformation across Indirect & IT categories.

As a strategic leader, you will play a key role in driving procurement process excellence, guiding the transition to a more efficient, digitally enabled, and category management-focused organisation. You will be responsible for shaping and enhancing procurement policies, optimising supplier and category management practices, and ensuring the full integration and utilisation of the SAP Ariba platform to maximize operational value. This position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver process optimisation, digital transformation, and sustainability initiatives within a global setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• S2P Process Improvement & Optimisation: Lead the design and continuous improvement of Source-to-Pay and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve procurement effectiveness.
• Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Group Procurement Director to implement a new Indirect procurement structure, focused on driving process efficiency, automation, and category management excellence.
• Category & Supplier Management: Act as the procurement subject matter expert, advancing category and supplier management frameworks. Support the team in building capabilities, designing optimised processes, and setting measurable performance targets.
• Digital Transformation & Process Automation: Spearhead the full adoption and utilisation of the SAP Ariba platform and other procurement technologies to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, and increase value through automation.
• Standardisation & Process Excellence: Develop and refine procurement standards, policies, and procedures to drive functional efficiency and consistency across the S2P cycle.
• Sustainability Leadership: Champion sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation while supporting the company's Scope 3 carbon reduction targets through procurement practices.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven track record of S2P or P2P process improvement and optimisation in a fast-paced, complex environment, ideally within the FMCG/Food industry.
• Senior-level procurement experience with expertise in Indirect category management, supplier relationship management, and a strong passion for process automation and digital transformation.
• Deep understanding of procurement technologies such as SAP Ariba, and experience driving automation and e-procurement initiatives.
• Degree & CIPS/MCIPS preferred, with a robust understanding of sustainability legislation and the ability to lead related initiatives.

Based in the Midlands, with flexible working arrangements, this role offers the opportunity for occasional international travel to the company's offices in Germany. The firm offers a highly competitive salary of £70,000-£85,000 with an attractive bonus and benefits package.
