Job Details

Join a leading defence company dedicated to cutting-edge technology and innovation in the global defence sector. As a Strategic Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in their procurement strategy, focusing on sourcing critical components and materials essential to their advanced defence systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely acquisition of high-quality supplies, fostering relationships with key suppliers to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and project requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and terms to optimize pricing and delivery schedules while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to assess technical specifications and ensure supplier capabilities meet project needs.
- Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to proactively mitigate risks and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in strategic procurement within the defence or aerospace industry, with a strong understanding of defence procurement regulations.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical abilities and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle) preferred.
- Fluent English & German
