More people apply for jobs in January than any other month of the year, according to the latest data from Supply Management’s specialist job board, Supply Management Jobs.
1 in 5 people were already actively searching for a new job for the new year in November 2017 when Investors in People (IIP) carried out their annual Job Exodus Survey 2018. The same research found that nearly half (47%) of the UK workforce were looking to move jobs in the next year.*
Combined with the results of a YouGov poll in December 2017, which revealed that the seventh most popular new year’s resolution is to ‘get a new job’, it’s no surprise that Supply Management Jobs saw an influx in applications in January 2018.**
In fact, 61% more people applied for a job on Supply Management Jobs in January 2018 than the average over 12 months.***
The number of people on the site doubled the yearly average with jobs receiving a 22% increase in applications per role in January.****
This is indicative of the trend for jobseekers to rush to sites, like Supply Management Jobs, to find a new job for the new year. Clearly, it’s a peak time to advertise with more return on your investment.
