The Planning Inspectorate has a long and proud history in ensuring a fair planning system. The work we do has a significant impact on people’s lives, the communities that they live in and the economy; whether that is considering an appeal for housing, providing challenge and support to Local Authorities on Local Plans or providing recommendations to the Secretary of State on power stations, or airport expansions such as Heathrow.
It’s a really exciting time to be thinking about joining us. We are currently in the middle of a multi-million-pound transformation programme to create a more modern Inspectorate. We want our colleagues to be able to work more flexibly and more collaboratively, exploring new and innovative ways to improve the way we provide services. We are investing heavily in technology and, as well as developing our model to be more customer centric, we are also modernising our systems to introduce increased automation and efficiency.
We have a fantastic opportunity for 2 Commercial Delivery Managers to join our Commercial team. We have 1 Permanent role and 1 maternity cover fixed term contract for 12 months.
If you are a commercial professional with passion, pro-activity, talent, focus, creativity and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment to deliver a dependable service, in partnership with a diverse range of colleagues across the organisation, we want to hear from you. In return, you can expect a rewarding opportunity in an interesting and supportive environment.
As a Commercial Delivery Manager you will help to shape the Commercial Team as we transition from a traditional to business partnership commercial model.
Your day to day activities will include designing and delivering end-to-end procurement projects, engaging with the marketplace, providing guidance and expertise on commercial matters, working in partnership with contract managers, contributing towards the development of a blueprint of upcoming procurements and ensuring best practice.
You will also analyse commercial data to make informed judgements and bring about improvements, including delivering savings to ensure value for money for the taxpayer.
For full information, please select apply and you will be taken to the Civil Service Jobs advert which has a detailed candidate pack which includes the job description and how to apply to The Planning Inspectorate.
