This instantly recognisable global manufacturer are looking to build there established and high-performing procurement team by bringing on board several ambitious new Category Managers covering multiple indirect categories.

The IT Category Manager position will see the successful individual join the organisation at an exciting time, as they continue to grow and evolve their team based at the UK Head office in Berkshire. This role will involve taking full responsibility for a significant level of spend covering all goods and services relating to information services. From sourcing new suppliers, re-negotiating crucial contracts and driving long-term strategy, this role would offer any up-and-coming procurement professional a new and exciting challenge within a market-leading company.

This role would suit a procurement professional looking to move into a category management role with a reputable company who will help develop your procurement career and offer long term stability and progression.

Indirect Procurement Category Manager - IT responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all areas of spend falling under the umbrella of Information services, including but not limited to software and hardware, connectivity, cloud solutions, data management and systems
  • Setting both strategic sourcing guidelines and implementing procurement policies, whilst liaising with key stakeholders in identifying areas of improvement and potential cost-savings
  • Take a lead on negotiations with business critical new and existing suppliers, adding value to the organisation through thoughtful dialogue with suppliers
  • Managing supplier relationships and ensuring that those on the supply list are always properly engaged and managed with a professional manner

The successful candidate will have to demonstrate:

  • Strong IT Procurement experience (Essential) across both software and hardware subcategories
  • Previous procurement experience of dealing with key stakeholders and managing supplier relationships to a category management level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong educational record, degree and CIPS qualified desirable
  • Full unrestricted right to work in the UK
