We are currently recruiting for a Contracts and Procurement Manager to take ownership of the contracts and procurement function at ActionAid UK.

ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are ending violence against women and girls and helping change lives, for good. We won’t stop until women and girls are out of danger, out of poverty and on track to create the future they want.

This is an essential role within the organisation, as it holds responsibility for promoting compliance with the procurement policy and also for ensuring that all supplier contracts are legally sound and provide good value for money. The post holder will also ensure that all supplier contracts align with the values of the organisation.

Working with key stakeholders, you will oversee all procurement activity across the organisation; from gaining an understanding of their needs, to developing strategic approaches to deliver value for money.

You will challenge, influence and support procurement processes across the organisation and will take responsibility for developing systems of accountability and measurement to ensure all procurement processes and contractual arrangements provide value for money and that they align with the values of the organisation.

As Contracts and Procurement Manager, you will review and provide expert advice on the signing of contracts, considering legal, commercial, partnership and mission-related factors, as well as the complexities and governance principles of the ActionAid Federation, sourcing and managing pro-bono or low-cost legal expertise, if appropriate.

In order to succeed within this role, it is essential that you have proven experience of evaluating and producing contracts in a similar sector, along with either formal or informal legal training or significant experience in contract development or grant management.

Applicants must also have a track record of delivering efficiency savings through effective contract management and must hold a Chartered Membership of CIPS or be qualified through experience.

We are keen to receive applications from those who have previously worked as a standalone procurement specialist.

You are an ideal candidate for this role if you have the ability to easily build relationships with key stakeholders, excellent communication and negation skills and a strong knowledge and understanding of UK contract law.

If you have these skills and experience and are passionate about working within an organisation committed to improving the lives of women and girls, for good; please do apply.

Please note that this role is for 28 hours per week on a permanent basis.

Interviews will be held remotely on the 2nd of December.

ActionAid is committed to driving improvement through digital channels, tools and ways of working.  We will ensure that we provide the technology and the training to enable all staff to perform their roles to the best of their abilities. In return, we ask that all staff are committed to continually improving their digital skills and knowledge within the working environment. Our recruitment processes will evaluate the digital skills of all applicants.

ActionAid is committed to supporting flexible working. If you would like to discuss flexible working options, including the possibility of a job share for this role, there will be space to do so during the interview process.
