The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is the UK’s world-leading government body established to make sure competition works in the interests of consumers and that businesses treat their customers fairly. In order to continue making markets work well in the interests of consumers, businesses and the economy it is essential we have a strong commercial department with the necessary capability to ensure value for money. We are therefore seeking a GCO accredited procurement specialist to manage our commercial arrangements and support our overall aim.

As Head of Commercial and Procurement, leading a strong commercial team, you will manage innovative, efficient, and effective commercial arrangements in a diverse environment with contracts ranging from £10,000 to over £2million in value. This is an exciting opportunity to use your knowledge of the marketplace to maximise value and to manage a commercial portfolio in innovative ways, including leading complex change programmes and use of joint ventures, outsourcing, or best-in class contracting approaches. In particular, you will play a key role in developing and implementing the outsourced delivery of future Total Facilities Management (TFM) services, helping to shape CMA’s infrastructure over the coming years. 

To be considered for this key role you must be able to evidence a proven track record in a senior commercial role with experience of contracting and supplier relationships within a Public Sector environment, including in the areas of technology, property and market research. Equally important will be your ability to provide strong and inspirational leadership to deliver results, recognise outstanding performance and deal effectively with under performance.Government Commercial Organisation accreditation, or confirmation of a willingness to work to achieve such accreditation is an essential requirement for this post.
