This FTSE 100 organization is looking for a talented logistics project manager to join the growing global logistics team to help drive process improvements and operational efficiency across their logistics operations. This role is in line with a global transformation happening across the business to establish a more centrally managed approach with global strategies being implemented across all regional and local business units.

As the Global Logistics Operations Manager, you will be tasked with re-engineering existing processes to eliminate bottlenecks and identify opportunities to improve efficiency under a new global structure. You will be acting as an internal consultant engaged with several business units and collaborating with a high volume of stakeholders to understand business needs and effectively communicate change strategies.

Among other things, the Global Logistics Operations Manager will be responsible for:-

  • The creation of process improvement projects within Logistics to be sold to internal stakeholders
  • Utilization of operations data to identify problem areas and draft effective solutions
  • Collaborating with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Transformation teams to align on key business goals
  • Building an extensive network of internal connections and relationships across all business units to access opportunities for idea sharing and value creation
  • Delivering new initiatives to the global logistics team to maximize efficiency

In order to succeed as the Global Logistics Operations Manager you should have the following skills and prior experience:-

  • Track record of delivering process improvement projects in a Logistics or Operations department within a multinational organization
  • Expert knowledge of logistics operations, particularly in inland logistics such as trucking and rail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship management skills to build and maintain a complex matrix of internal connections
  • Exceptional problem solver that can identify problems via efficient analytics and create appropriate solutions to be implemented
  • Proven ability in project management; capabilities in Lean and Six Sigma are also highly beneficial
