Commercial and Procurement Project Specialist
FTSE 250 Engineering Firm
Flexible and remote working with regular travel to the South East
Contact: Rhys at jobsRB@bramwithconsulting.co.uk
Working on a crucial project of significant national importance, the Commercial and Procurement Project Specialist will be working alongside a newly formed and niche procurement and project management team responsible for the planning and execution of a complex and long-term engineering project.
The successful individual can expect to be given large amounts of autonomy and responsibility for managing the commercial relationships and contracts with critical suppliers and subcontractors across the full scope of the project. Joining an established organisation with a global reach and working with stakeholders from the public and private sector, this position will be critical to driving efficiency and delivering value against the tight project deadlines.
This employer offers a degree of flexible working with substantial remote working. However, the successful individual will need to commit to travelling regularly to project site located in Devon.
Overview of the Commercial Procurement Project Specialist position:
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day procurement and supply chain requirements of the project, predominantly focusing on the commercial management of suppliers and managing providers of subcontract services
- Working cross functionally with management and external stakeholders to develop a pipeline of requirements, helping to develop long-term procurement strategy to support engineering works across the project
- Taking full accountability for the management of suppliers and their contracts, ensuring successful delivery of the project on time and on budget, and within the constraints of a highly regulated environment.
- Responsible for the management of supplier relationships, ensuring contractual compliance, identifying issues with performance, and successfully building relationships to enable consistent levels of delivery.
Requirements for this position:
- Experience of working in a complex project environment, ideally within an engineering, defence, aerospace automotive or other similar industry
- Exposure to subcontract management, direct materials procurement and sourcing
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, including commercial contract management and supplier relationship management
- Strong academic record, CIPS and relevant degree qualifications desirable
- Candidates must be aware that due to the nature of the project, they may be required to undergo security clearance, and must therefore be eligible for this. Including being resident in the UK for 5 years and having unrestricted right to work.
This would suit a motivated procurement or commercial professional looking to push their career forward with a recognisable company which will offer long-term stability, progression and a challenging environment in which to learn.
Salary: £35-40k DOE
