The 7 Force Procurement Team is a new shared service supporting the seven police forces across the East of England (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk and Suffolk).  This collaboration is responsible for third party spend of approximately £230m per annum, making the 7 Force Collaboration the second largest police procurement collective after the Metropolitan Police. 

The vision for the Seven Force Procurement Team is to enable the delivery of an effective Police service and provide support for victims of crime and the public in the eastern region by procuring and managing a high quality, value for money supply chain.

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of Senior Category Manager ICT who will work closely in support of the Head of the ICT Category.

This is a challenging role requiring enthusiasm and initiative that will provide the right candidate with an interesting and diverse workload operating with stakeholders across the region.  You will be supported in your role with professional development and you will have the ability to work flexibly from any location within the region.

The right candidate will have experience in implementing category strategies and managing activities across the procurement lifecycle including pre-market benchmarking and research, developing the supplier market, tendering, and contract management activities.  You will need to be commercially astute and be able to demonstrate your understanding of the relevant market sectors and how you have applied that to good effect in delivering value for money contracts and delivering savings.

The postholder for this role will be employed by Kent Police, but the base location of the postholder could be within any of the seven police forces listed above (i.e. local to you) and is therefore open to candidates across all regions.

Travel Requirement: Whilst the role will be based at the local force location and conferencing technology is coming to the fore, you will be required as part of the role to travel to other establishments across the seven forces and more widely to fulfil the role requirements.
