This FTSE 250 organisation with a global reach are looking for a Category Manager to join their team with the responsibility for managing all areas of spend relating to IT hardware, software and technology services whilst helping to drive forward their long-term IT strategy.

The firm is currently undergoing a £100 million-pound digital transformation, touching all areas of the business across all the 6 countries it operates in. The Category Manager can expect to be taking full responsibility for the management of business-critical suppliers who are vital to delivering for the organisation's clients.

Procurement Category Manager: IT and Digital Transformation, role responsibilities will include:

  • Working across the IT procurement category including software, hardware and telecoms, with direct responsibility for the sourcing of new suppliers, negotiations, contract management and performance monitoring
  • Setting both strategic sourcing guidelines and implementing procurement policies, whilst liaising with key stakeholders to determine the direction of the organisations digital transformation
  • Managing supplier relationships and ensuring that those on the supply list are properly always engaged and managed within the parameters of a highly regulated environment

The successful candidate will have to demonstrate:-

  • At least 5 years procurement and sourcing experience is essential, with specific knowledge of IT and technology procurement
  • Experience in industrial or engineering sectors is beneficial
  • Previous experience of working on digital transformation programmes or working within an organisation undergoing technological change is highly desirable
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and spoken, with the ability to lead negotiations and influence stakeholders
  • Strong educational track record, CIPS accreditation highly desirable
  • Full right to work in the UK, due to the nature of this organisation the individual will need to be eligible for security clearance
