Overview:

Do you have a passion for food? Or how about the Food and Beverage industry as whole? Well Talent Drive are delighted to be partnering with one of the real success stories of the British Food and Manufacturing industry in the last 30 years as they look for a brand-new Head of Procurement to lead their Procurement function.

This role will report straight into the CFO who is an exec board member, and you will be overseeing a team of 7 Procurement Professionals with 2 Category Managers as your direct reports who oversee Packaging and Engineering. The overall spend accountability is just over £100 million and this covers everything apart from fresh produce and the core areas of spend are: Engineering, Capital Expenditure, Packaging and Ingredients 

This is a very fast paced environment, and the role will require to travel to producers and sites where needed and head office is located on the beautiful Sussex coastline with some flexible working. The role is key to this organisations long term sustainable strategy of growth and the business will have an expectation of this individual to help drive value and cost with their supplier base and improve engagement.

What the role involves:

To provide strong leadership with overseeing the Procurement Function and overall spend accountability of over £100 million across Direct Procurement.

To act as a business partner to Exec, providing an “expert” level of information, service and insight.

To develop and grow the profile of Procurement across the company and build its influence.

To optimise Procurement performance and savings in line with best-in-class benchmarks.

To manage, challenge and nurture members of the Procurement team, continually raising the levels of service and savings achieved.

To ensure Procurement add best value in line with the sustainability goals of the business.

The person we hope to find:

Proven track record in managing a Procurement team.

Strong end to end procurement sourcing and category management experience across areas such as Engineering, Capex, Ingredients and Packaging.

Excellent communication skills and able to work with all levels of management and stakeholders.

Clear and open communication style and be able to challenge when needed

Experience in working in a fast-paced matrix environment.

Highly motivated self-starter and strong negotiator/ influencer.
