POST TITLE Head of Supply Chain Management
SALARY SB3 - £56,000 pa
FULL TIME – 36 hours
LOCATION - BOSTON SPA
We seek a professional Head of Supply Chain Management to lead, develop and implement a supply chain management strategy to ensure the British Library secures optimum value for money from its suppliers and contractors within a sound governance framework.
You will be a good people manager and member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply with significant strategic level experience in managing a procurement and contract management function in a large and complex organisation gained from both the public and private sectors. You will have proven expertise in commercial negotiations for multi-million pound contracts for goods, services and works and have an in depth knowledge of Government procurement strategy including a thorough knowledge of UK & EU law as it affects procurement
As the most senior lead on procurement at the Library you will interact and influence at all levels and will need to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders across the business.
The opportunity is not for the feint hearted - with c£50m p.a. business as usual contractual spend per annum, the Library is delivering major transformational multi-million pound development programmes at its St Pancras and Boston Spa sites as well as developing a presence in Leeds.
