Procurement Manager - Mechanical Components

Global Leader in Heavy Machinery Production

Location - Leiden, Netherlands (Relocation Required)

Salary - €80k + Holiday Allowance, Bonus & Lease Car

Contact - Rikard, JobsRL@bramwithconsulting.co.uk

This global leader in the heavy machinery production industry is creating a new global procurement department to be centrally managed from their HQ just outside of Leiden, NL. As part of the new department they are seeking an experienced procurement manager to join their commodity purchasing team with a specialist focus on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

This is a critical business spend that will be managed at a global level and has significant opportunity for synergies, cost reduction and performance improvement. The aim of the global category manager is to provide oversight to the local purchasing teams across the world and begin to professionalise the approach to procurement with more strategic category management.

As the Procurement Manager for Mechanical Components your will:

  • Establish a global category management strategy and global supplier base for the hydraulic and pneumatic system components
  • Work closely with local purchasing teams to identify areas for improvement and global capability
  • Build relationships and commitment with stakeholders across the global business to drive new category strategy
  • Develop and implement a global supplier management and performance monitoring tool
  • Provide subject matter expertise on both commercial and technical aspects of highly technical projects

As the Procurement Manager you will require the following Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience of Procurement and Category Management of highly technical products and materials, preferably from an automotive, engineering or heavy machinery industry
  • Previous experience working in a heavy production industry, high-value/low-volume production
  • Ability to work in a near-greenfield procurement environment with little processes and policies in place
  • Able to work as part of a global procurement team managing a virtual team of local purchasers
  • Degree qualified; preferably in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification
  • Other qualification in Procurement or Project Management also highly desirable
  • Must speak fluent English; other European languages highly desirable

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organization in the process of setting up procurement from the ground up and reporting directly to the Chief Procurement Officer. You will be directly responsible for setting the strategy and direction of your category area to ensure maximum performance and profitability and long-term success of the procurement department.

If you have the relevant experience of procurement and category management in the heavy industry then do not hesitate to get in touch and send your CV to Rikard on JobsRL@bramwithconsulting.co.uk
