Senior Procurement Manager

Infrastructure Engineering/Ground Works

Location: Flexible Location with travel to Birmingham

Salary: £70-80k + Car Allowance + Bonus

Working with one of the leading names in the construction industry, this role is an unparalleled opportunity to join an exciting joint venture working on one of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure projects. Leading a small but specialised team, this role is accountable for all sourcing and procurement activities relating to materials, subcontracts and equipment for this ambitious project which is worth an estimated £5 billion.

The core responsibilities of the Senior Procurement Manager will be;

  • Build and improve upon existing procurement capabilities by establishing relationships with new suppliers of ground engineering supplies and services, designing robust supply chains in collaborate with a range of stakeholders across the joint venture.
  • Take a leadership role within the function, directly managing up to three people whilst also advising the wider business unit on areas for improvement, supplier performance, risk and market-developments
  • Negotiate with critical suppliers, achieving the best possible value by collaborating with all parties involved in the project

This role can be based at any of the companies UK locations meaning full support for flexible working. However regular travel to project site in Birmingham is required. To cater for this the package includes a generous car allowance.

For this role, the following skills, attributes, and experience are required:

  • Considerable experience within construction/infrastructure/engineering procurement, ideally within a project-based environment (Ground engineering/piling experience desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of NEC3 contracts
  • End to end supply chain experience
  • Demonstratable leadership and management capabilities
