As the Senior Procurement Manager of this premium FMCG business you will have responsibility for the procurement of a number of specified material categories the largest of which is packaging. The ideal candidate will come from a large volume, fast-paced consumer products background such as Household, Pharma or Food & Drink

This role is responsible for initiating and implementing all aspects of the organisation’s procurement strategy. Working closely with current suppliers, identifying new suppliers, agreeing new terms of business, ensuring all aspects of contingency planning are in place and developing new product specifications as required.

This is a leadership role that reports to the Board and manages a Procurement team. You will be expected to lead the business in agreeing clear and compelling category strategies for materials as well as commodities. Your role will underpin commercial success by delivering value improvements, ensuring competitive pricing, maintaining successful relationships with suppliers and negotiating for new tenders as required.

To fulfil the above aspects of the role we would expect you to demonstrate the following:

  • Over 5 years’ experience within a senior procurement role.
  • Strong buying experience within the packaging sector.
  • Ideally a CIPS membership or other professional qualifications.
  • Strong working knowledge of Supplier Management practice.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across a matrix organisation.
