Job description

You will work with a diverse, committed and energetic team of colleagues who all bring different skills and experience to the team, creating an environment of continual learning. You are likely to work with military colleagues, civil servants and consultants - of all grades and ranks.

You will support the strategic relationship with suppliers and senior internal stakeholders while building collaboration within and across organisational boundaries. You will develop and manage key sourcing activities to meet project goals while minimising risk and ensuring Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is considered. You will be the trusted advisor in sourcing and commercial initiatives to both, stakeholders and your team members, ensuring compliance to the appropriate processes and operating procedures.

This is an exciting opportunity to become and an integral member of the DEOP team, whose purpose is the development and continued improvement the of the live, work and train experience for service personnel and their families.

 

We are a small team of hard working, and compassionate people who provide a quality, responsive and relevant procurement for a £multibillion portfolio of collaborative based incentivized contracts across the UK.

 

The role will be supporting the procurement aspects of a range professional services and construction projects as part of the DEO portfolio, including supplier and contract management activities.

 

The role provides the opportunity to engage and interact with staff at all ranks and grades across the functions and corporate teams.

 

C2 Enabling Services

 

This is a challenging post requiring an individual, who can analyse and understand issues quickly, providing agile solutions.

 

Enabling Services is a small team, that work together to manage the whole of the Enabling Services portfolio, which covers the corporate teams e.g. Technical Services, Corporate Communications and the People Team.

 

Therefore, there is a broad spectrum of requirements including consultancy, technical service providers, specialist providers, training providers and media providers. The role offers challenges in developing and managing a variety of commercial solutions. The requirements range in value from a few thousand to tens of millions and will require the ability to support procurement teams through all levels of approval.

 

Equally our stakeholder community is broad and varied including internal and other TLB stakeholders. This requires excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The role provides the opportunity to engage with staff at all grades across all functions and corporate teams such as the 1* Chief Information Officer and 2* Chief of Staff.

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is the estate expert for Defence, supporting the armed forces to enable military capability by planning, building, maintaining, and servicing infrastructure.

Our responsibilities include:

• Plan and deliver major capital projects and lifecycle refurbishment

• Provide utilities services

• Manage soft facilities management (i.e. cleaning and catering)

• Provide a safe place to train

• Allocate Service Families Accommodation

• Procure and manage routine maintenance and reactive repair

• Provide a central register of asset information to advise infrastructure planning

• Act as steward of the Defence estate

• Provide the unarmed guarding service
