Procurement Business Partner - Defence and Transport | FTSE 100 Global Brand | remote based
£65,000- £75,000 + £4000 car allowance + 20% bonus + matched pension contribution + private healthcare
A unique opportunity has come up in a world recognised FTSE 100 brand for a Procurement Leader to oversee all procurement activity and optimising value delivery and risk mitigation across the Defence and Transport Business areas. Procurement has overall accountability of over £1.4 billion pounds of third party spend and this role will play a large part in supporting the company’s business objectives of delivering some strong bottom line cost savings with the Defence and Transport. The role reports straight into the Procurement Director and can be based remotely with the occasional travel to sites across the UK.
What the role involves:
Accountable for management and delivery of Procurement in the Defence & Transport business unit ensuring that the delivery of business outcomes and performance meet requirements and the global Procurement strategy and targets
Accountable for the change management and compliance of the Defence & Transport business unit to Procurement Policy and Standards including the adoption and use of preferred suppliers ensuring that action is taken to improve compliance.
Identify and regularly review business critical suppliers to the Defence & Transport business unit.
Own and lead the development and management of key stakeholder relationships in the Defence & Transport business unit.
Lead and manage the provision of Procurement support to Defence & Transport bids and transitions leveraging the capacity and expertise in the Business Partnering team
Drive early engagement and collaboration with Defence & Transport Business
Ensure that Defence & Transport business unit strategies, plans and business requirements are understood and supported by Procurement and incorporated into global or regional category and sourcing strategies.
The person we hope to find:
Graduate calibre with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent is desirable.
Ability to ‘sell’ Procurement to the wider business.
Possess strong business acumen and be able to understand complex business needs and drivers
Demonstrates a consistent track record of delivery within large and complex Procurement organisations.
Will have a track record of category management, effecting change, savings delivery and continuous improvement through creation and implementation of innovative category strategies
Has knowledge of the assigned business units.
Has a global and strategic mindset while being flexible to local differences and creative to encourage and seek innovative approaches.
Demonstrates track record of developing and maintaining strong senior stakeholder relationships up to MD and Board level
Demonstrates the flexibility to work across more than one Business Unit when required.
Salary and Benefits:
