Senior Category Manager - Leading Environmental Organisation

Salary: £60k - £70k + Car Allowance + Package

Location: Bristol/Cardiff/Birmingham (remote working)

This leading Environmental firm has recently had a restructure within the business, and the new CEO has implemented a transformation of the Procurement Function. As a result, the organisation is seeking a Senior Category Manager to work closely with the new Head of Procurement and introduce a new procurement initiative.

It is an excellent time to be joining the procurement function, with the transformation process just beginning, it will provide the opportunity for fast-track career progression. The successful individual will help shape the direction of the team by working closely with senior members to adopt new processes within direct and indirect spend.

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop strategies across key procurement spend areas such as Maintenance Services (Electrical, Mechanical & Industrial), Machinery & Equipment (Chemical, logistics, parts etc.) and Indirect Services (Marketing, HR, Professional Services, FM & Security)
• Manage projects to agreed timelines and report on progress formally and informally

• Develop plans with stakeholders to ensure alignment of targets and improvement plans across spend
• Work closely stakeholders to ensure alignment of targets and improvement plans, as well as, driving procurement policies and category management strategies

Relevant Experience:

• Strong knowledge of technical buying across areas such as manufacturing and equipment, as well as indirect services

• Ability to lead a team and manage the end-to-end procurement process
• Previous experience as a procurement generalist
• Excellent communication skills with past experience managing supplier and stakeholder relationships
