European Senior Procurement Manager - Paper & Packaging

This globally renowned FMCG firm is currently undergoing an exciting period of aggressive expansion in the UK. Due to a number of major acquisitions, the procurement team has seen enormous growth in the past year and is continuing to grow. A new permanent position has just opened up in the company's HQ in London location for a Senior Procurement Manager for Paper & Packaging. The role will see you working closely with the procurement Director to oversee the companies' packaging requirements during this period of rapid expansion.

You will take over the management of the UK and EU Packaging spend of over £100M and also lead an experienced team of buyers and category managers.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Procurement Manager - Paper & Packaging position include:

  • Setting up of a new procurement process and implementing change where necessary
  • Creating and implementing best in class procurement strategies across the core commodity of paper & packaging
  • Deliver on ambitious innovation and sustainability targets that have been set for the packaging spend
  • Providing leadership and guidance to an experienced team of procurement professionals
  • Building excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Regularly travel to the various offices around the country and occasionally travel internationally to meet suppliers.

Key skills required of the Senior Procurement Manager - Paper & Packaging are:

  • A solid track record of project and change management within an FMCG environment.
  • Background in working within a multinational procurement environment and driving strategic sourcing methodology
  • Proven leadership and people management and development skills
  • Excellent ability to communicate, negotiate and influence
  • Strong knowledge of procurement contracts management and the strategic sourcing process
  • Degree education or equivalent work experience
  • MCIPS qualification is highly desirable
