This global leader in the consumer electronics sector is growing its procurement presence in the European market and is looking to hire for a newly created position to be based at their Amsterdam office. This role of EMEA Category Manager for Logistics & Transport is the first of its kind in the business and will be tasked with establishing the sourcing strategy for logistics and transport services for all European operations.

As the EMEA Category Manager for Logistics & Transport, you will have a hands-on role in building up the sourcing strategy for the €70M+ of spend under your responsibility and lay the foundation for the recruitment of a larger team in the near future. You will be tasked with building internal relationships across departments and countries to establish a more mature logistics procurement process with greater compliance across the European businesses.

Skills and responsibilities required for the position of EMEA Category Manager - Logistics & Transport:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on all topics related to logistics and transport spend including air, road, and ocean freight, 3PL, Warehousing, and other relevant services
  • Development and implementation of a regional procurement strategy for logistics to be deployed across all European operating companies
  • Building internal stakeholder relationships in a matrix structure with Operations, Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain departments
  • Provide deep-dive analysis of European logistics spend and identify opportunities for both quick wins and long-term value creation
  • Develop a supplier performance and risk management tool to ensure the supply base is consistently performing at optimal capacity
  • Demonstrate exceptional numeracy and analytical skills and excellent knowledge of data analytics software such as Power BI, Tableau, and Excel
  • Must be degree qualified; additional Advanced Diploma's or Qualification in Procurement is highly desirable
