Category Manager - Renewable Energy and Recycling Company

Location: South-West England (with remote working)

Salary: £50k - £60k + benefits

This Renewable Energy and Recycling organisation is currently looking for a Category Manager to join their team. The newly appointed CEO has implemented a transformation of the Procurement Function which has lead to an expansion. This role will involve remote working, with a few days in the office and as category manager you will be responsible for a category portfolio of up to £50m and reporting into the head of procurement and supply chain.

The successful individual will be working closely with the procurement team, internal stakeholders, external third parties and continuously aiming to improve value delivery.

It is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to take on more responsibility and guide the direction of the procurement and supply chain function as it begins its transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage suppliers and stakeholders in the delivery of best value and lowest risk
• Provide support and guidance on Procurement and supply chain related issues
• Managing a category portfolio of up to £50m and projects to agreed timelines
• Delivery of procurement and supply chain strategies for key spend categories
• Produce and coordinate regular reports on key spend areas to broad members and key stakeholders

Key Experience / Background:

• In depth understanding of legal issues, such as Contract Law, TUPE, Fair Trade, etc
• Knowledge of end-to-end procurement category management including market insight
• Clear understanding of procurement category management principles
• Energy industry knowledge is desirable
• Degree and CIPS qualified is essential
