Procurement & Category Manager

As Procurement & Category Manager, you’ll work with the other Category Mangers to ensure that there is a ‘cross Council’ approach to Procurement Services, and with the Head of Policy and Contract Development to ensure that working practices across the Procurement Service are in alignment, and deliver to Procurement Strategies. This is exciting time to join as new ways of working are established providing a platform to significantly impact on category management delivery.
Reporting into the Head of Procurement Services, you’ll advise and support delivery of the Council's procurement strategies and policies; including the Contract Procedure Rules, Sustainable and Ethical Procurement Strategy and other procurement policies. The range of categories is diverse and vast in a council with £400m spend and over 8,000 third party suppliers.
If you are seeking a new challenge and want to bring your dynamism and energy to an ambitious and forward thinking organisation, we will want to hear from you. It’s important that you have the CIPs qualification working to MCIPS and have relevant experience in complex category management at scale.
