About Our Client
My client is a leading manufacturing business based in Derbyshire
Job Description
Main role and responsibilities:
- Strong Health and Safety mindset
- Ability to develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain
- Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards
- Previous experience as a supply chain manager and 5 to 10 years of team leadership experience
- Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes including a good working knowledge of SAP. SAP materials management (MM) warehouse management (WM) and extended warehouse management (EWM) essential. Desirable to have a good working knowledge of SAP Production planning, detailed scheduling (PPDS)
- SAP Production planning knowledge of work centres and routings
- Experience of planning people and machines
- Leading a team of logistics, planners, material controllers and demand planners
- Good working experience of production IT MES systems / IT competent
- Previous experience in project managing and delivering change projects with IT and infrastructure
- Budget planning, business plan development and close involvement with finance
- Good logistics experience of inbound and outbound goods along with production logistics (line feeding)
- Experience of dealing with material handling fleet, managing 3rd party relationships
- Good understanding of external suppliers indirect and direct
- Development of employees and teams
- Previous experience of working in a matrix organisation
- Experience of running a S&OP process and functional collaboration
- Inventory management and experience of managing 3rd party audits
- Budgeting, forecasting and cost centre management
- Ability to analyse supply chain data and performance and continuously improve the results
The Successful Applicant
Candidate Requirements
- Knowledge and experience with 6 Sigma
- Bachelors Degree (College or university degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management or Industrial Engineering is desirable) or APICS CPIM or CSCP National Certification
- Or minimum of eight to ten years of supply chain or related experience
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems
- Ability to establish and monitor policies and guidelines
- Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures
- Solid product knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
- Experience in inventory management and control, purchasing, parts distribution and/or supply chain/logistics is required.
- Experience in information technology, supply chain logistics, global purchasing, operations and / or quality is desired.
