Procurement Specialist

Woking, Surrey GU21 4LL

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference to the planet by using your procurement skills at WWF UK.  Right now, our world is under threat like never before. But there is hope. You can help deliver positive change by joining our small procurement team and support our tendering processes as well as help with the vetting of suppliers and implementing of contracts.

As a Procurement Specialist at WWF, you will help develop and manage a programme of commercial projects and tenders across all areas of supplier expenditure. You will ensure the robust definition of requirements and adherence to our standards and policies as well as manage the sourcing of competitive bids and the selection process. You will also vet new suppliers and review existing ones for financial and non-financial areas of risk. You will raise purchase orders and produce reporting to illustrate the level of compliance with procurement policies and procedures too. An important element in your role will be to liaise with colleagues across the UK and internationally to provide support and develop our approach to delivering Sustainable Procurement.

Already working in a purchasing role and with some level of CIPS membership or part qualification, you will be able to bring a strong understanding of procurement processes to the team. An experienced user of Purchase to Pay systems and Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel), you will possess excellent analytical and interpersonal skills too. You will also be good at overseeing projects and using your initiative when needed. Critically you will be keen to develop and learn new skills.

A good understanding of tendering systems would be an advantage.

If you are excited by the of using your procurement skills to save our planet, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our website via the link, complete the online registration and submit a copy of your up-to-date CV with the Supporting Statement highlighting what makes you a good fit for us.

We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you.  Here at WWF, we are committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose.  We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We are looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.
