Hours: 37 per week

Part time/flexible working options will be considered

Salary range: £34,578 to £36,369 per annum (pro-rata if part time)

Based at: Police Headquarters  

A great opportunity has arisen for a Senior Procurement Officer to join the Force. This is a brand new position so the ideal candidate can have a real impact in shaping the future within a newly formed section of the team and ensuring how we procure is delivering value for money and being efficient

Main Purpose of Role

The post holder will be required to deliver a strategic/commercial service to clients across multiple categories of procurement spend and contribute significantly to the delivery of allocated commercial projects within the organisation, delivering sustainable cost improvements, and a range of benefits for the Force.

Ensuring value for money is defined and measured in all activities.

Key Skills & Experience Required

Some of the key skills and experience we are looking for are listed below, however the right candidate will be able to provide examples of all points listed on the person specification.

 Procurement knowledge comprising of negotiation skills, knowledge and demonstrated understanding of strategic sourcing methodologies, supplier chain theory, persuading and influencing, and interpersonal skills

Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of procurement law, guidance and policy

 Member of training to be a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or other recognised procurement qualification
