Leading Global Construction Major is seeking a Procurement Category Manager with vast experience in Indirect spend - Birmingham / WFH - £60-65k + Benefits including a car allowance

An award winning global construction Giant is currently seeking an indirect Category Manager to take residence is their Best-in-class Procurement Function. With yearly revenue in the £billions and over 26,000 employees, they are looking to vastly expand and drive the company to new heights.

As a Procurement Category manager you will be In charge of a vast range of indirect services ranging from HR and Professional Services, to Marketing and FM they want to see well-rounded and ambitious Procurement Professionals with scope for development, as it has a clear pathway into senior management.

If you have experience in indirect Procurement and have managerial experience then this will be a great opportunity for you to develop in a world renowned company.

As a Indirect Procurement Category Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Being the Strategic Sourcing Lead for all HR and Professional Services sub-categories: payments, Benefits, recruitment, contingent labour, consultancy, legal and the likes.
  • Negotiating with market leading market vendors, using your supplier relationship management skills to leverage longer term commercial advantages for the business as well as cost savings
  • Project leading category / sourcing strategies, owning the cradle-to-grave procurement process including RFP, RFQ etc
  • Regular interaction with an executive level stakeholder community, winning support for far-reaching procurement initiatives
  • Instilling a high performance culture amongst the Procurement team, upskilling more junior team members and demonstrating what best-in-class Procurement looks and feels like

Required procurement experience & qualifications for an indirect Procurement Category Manager:-

  • Strong procurement and strategic sourcing experience within established companies, with at least 2 years specialising in indirect categories
  • Track record of progression within your procurement career thus far, stepping from Buyer to Senior Buyer to Category Manager within a short space of time
  • Degree / MCIPS qualifications preferable though not essential
